Flügger is a family-owned company with roots dating back to 1783. Quality and sustainability are high priorities for the Danish company, who produces the majority of their paints at their own factory in Kolding, Denmark.

Flügger continuously works to minimise their environmental impact, and, today, more than 80% of Flügger's sold paints are certified with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel.

Flügger's Nordic Swan Ecolabel paints ensure a safe environment for you and your children, whether you are painting walls or giving new life to vintage furniture.

The walls in Viggo's room are painted with KABRIC, a structure paint from DETALE by Flügger, which gives a textured and rustic surface. KABRIC is available in 40 different colours and may be used on walls, ceilings and furniture.

Copenhagen, Denmark

2-year-old Viggo's room is placed on the 2nd floor in an old, charming family house dating back to the early 1800s.

Before moving in, Viggo's parents spent a long time researching colours from that period, and decided to upgrade the house with clear references to the original look and feel.

For that reason, everything is kept in neutral, calm colours – including Viggo's room – with specific details paid to recycling and reusing while keeping things functional and comfortable. And above all: Safe for a little boy who loves to to play, learn and explore.

Viggo's room with vintage pieces & new purchases, e.g. the chair and the bed. Everything from floor to panels to ceilings have been painted with paint from Flügger.

An old African drum, inherited from Viggo's granddad who used to live in Kenya, is now in use as a small side table. On top, a little car and Viggo's back pack. Explore our selection of bags here.

An oak shelf is used to store toys, teddies, books and colour pencils. Seen here: Two open raffia basketes, one blue and the other in natural raffia; the labrador teddy and a wooden bus.

The table was found vintage and then painted with paint 'Bloody Mary' from Flügger. The rich bordeaux colour matches the Charlie Chair in vanilla beautifully.

Beautiful details from the shelf with the open raffia basket, a small basket ball and a wooden bus from Grimm's.

Papier-mâché letters on the wall were purchased online, and then painted by Viggo's mom. Above the bed hangs a papier-mâché bear.

An open basket is placed next to the bed to store books, including the pull-out-book 'Muldvarpen, der ville vide, hvem der havde lavet lort på dens hoved'.

Viggo's bed is low to the ground and full of soft cushions and teddies. Seen here: A dusty green balloons blanket, a Liberty pillow and a blue mushroom lamp.

A Studio Mini canvas tote hangs on the door, ready for the next outing. The door has been painted in 'Earth Green', which is a darker green as a contrast to the 'Pale Olive' paint used on the floor and panels.

"One of the best decisions in here was the addition of the large bed, made soft and comfortable with pillows."

The large cabinet, which is used to store Viggo's clothes, is another great vintage find on dba.dk. The cabinet was given a new life with paint 'Bornholm', also from Flügger.
