Colourful toys, great vintage finds, yellow curtains and handmade decor – this is Elmer, 2, and Norma's, 4, shared room.

Norma and Elmer sleep in another room, making this a playroom only. The room is filled with toys, books, games, puzzles, markers and everything else two small children may dream of.

Small zones allow for the kids to play individually and together, and great storage pieces help keep everything tidy yet still within reach.

Explore this colourful, warm and charming room, that is nothing but an invitation to play.

Taking inspiration from Norma and Elmers daycare, Sofie designed the playroom with zones, enabling the kids to play with different things simultaneously. Zones also help with the organisation of toys. In addition, almost everything is kept low in height – perfect for Norma and Elmer so they can reach.

A large cabinet is used for toys, books, a silver elephant piggy bank from Georg Jensen and other collectibles.

Open shelves on top allow for a wonderful and colourful display of everything, including a raffia butterfly storage basket. and a selection of games. Explore our selection here.

Great vintage finds include this table, matching chair and an old poster from Copenhagen Zoo. On the floor; an old duck on a stick – see our new version here.

Miniature figures and animals have their place in the white hanging cabinet. Two tin cans are placed on top of the cabinet, used to store colour pencils. On the wall above hangs a papier-mâché bear.

A great combination: Books on the wall; pillows and mattresses on the floor for a comfortable place to read. This is Elmer's favourite place to sit.

An open basket is placed next to the mattress to store teddies and stuffed animals, including the clown by Helle Høgsbro Krag.

A wonderful wooden cabinet with open space and drawers is used to store more toys, Duplo and LEGO and lots of markers, paper and other creative toys.

Drawings made by Norma and Elmer, little pictures and birthday invitations hang above the drawer on the homemade pinboard.

A celebration ring from Grimm's is placed on the wooden cabinet, featuring some wonderful figures including the black cat, spooky and beeswax candles.

"We wanted this room to be an invitation to play."

The large cabinet has been painted in 'Lulworth Blue' from Farrow & Ball, which pairs well with the warm yellow on the walls.

To the left of the cabinet hangs two small Babar posters in silver frames. Explore our Babar posters here.

A raffia lamp, a wooden car track and a play kitchen – and yellow curtains that Sofie has sewn herself. A great example of the variety of textiles, fabrics and colours that are mixed so effortlessly in here.
